European football takes up the One Love slogan coined in the Netherlands. The captains have decided to take the field wearing a new armband called ‘One Love’, on which a rainbow-colored heart is engraved as a message against all forms of discrimination and exclusion. The message of this sign is that football unites hearts.
Manuel Noire will lead the German team to the Qatar World Cup wearing this iconic “armband”. England captain Harry Kane also posted a photo of himself wearing the One Love band on social media.
Eight countries including France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and England have already accepted the footprint of their heroes.
Before this decision was made, Poland captain Robert Lewandowski had announced that he would wear the blue and yellow headband of Ukraine’s national flag. It is not known if it will be approved by FIFA.
