European plan: mandatory electrification of commercial vehicles from 2027 | Inland

A Commission official expects that SMEs and smaller organizations will not have to deal with European rules until 2030.

Timmermans will probably come up with a concrete proposal for European legislation around the turn of the year. Due to the high fuel prices and the farewell to Russian oil, the PvdA prominent sees an extra need to speed up electric driving. The EU heavyweight sees commercial vehicles as a segment in which rapid growth is possible.

Next week, the European Parliament is expected to vote in favor of the proposal to introduce a ban on new sales of cars with combustion engines from 2035. Many manufacturers are already switching to fully electric before that time.
