Representative European Union officials and allies take action walk out during the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Russia Sergey Lavrov at the United Nations Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
The action of European officials and their allies was uploaded by the French delegation through the official Twitter account on Tuesday (1/3). In the video, dozens of officials leave the room as Lavrov begins his speech at the event via video.
“Walk out representatives of the European Union and their partners as Minister Lavrov spoke this morning to show our support for Ukraine,” the tweet said.
In the speech, Lavrov stated that he refused to attend in person because he criticized the European Union’s action to impose sanctions on Russia. He called the EU action outrageous.
Meanwhile, at least 10 people were killed and 35 others injured as a result of the Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv, on Tuesday (1/3) morning local time.
Adviser to the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, Anton Herashchenko, confirmed the news. It also opens up the possibility that the number of casualties will continue to increase.
