Another sporting event is celebrating its premiere at Schalke – the final of the European League of Football. With this highlight, the Veltins Arena is building on a bygone tradition: 20 years ago, the Düsseldorf Rhein Fire football team was a regular guest in Gelsenkirchen.
Founded in November 2020
The European League of Football is a European league in American football. It was founded in November 2020 and started its first season on June 19, 2021. In the current season, the league includes 16 teams from nine nations.
While the teams are currently fighting for a place in the playoffs for the 2023 season, those responsible for the European League of Football have already wrapped up the next final: The Championship Game 2024 will take place on September 22 in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen .
