According to CNN broadcasting on the day, President Macron was tested positive after showing suspected symptoms of Corona 19.
President Macron will go into self-isolation for 7 days while continuing to work remotely. However, it canceled the tour schedule for Lebanon next week.
The problem is that it has not been confirmed when and how President Macron was diagnosed with Corona 19.
Accordingly, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonius Costa and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who had business luncheons at the Elysee Palace on the previous day and on the 14th, are being tested for Corona 19 and self-isolation.
In addition, the chairman of the EU summit, Charles Michel, who met with President Macron on the 14th, and Angel Guria, the secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), are in self-quarantine.
President Macron attended the EU summit held in Brussels, Belgium on the 10th-11th. It was a meeting attended by 25 of the 27 EU leaders.
However, there have been no additional confirmed cases to date.
Meanwhile, European countries canceled plans to ease the blockade during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The UK has raised the quarantine measures in London from the 2nd stage to the 3rd stage, and began to restrict movement and ban indoor gatherings. Germany also enforces a de facto blockade by the 10th of next month.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is evaluating medicines and vaccines for use in the EU, will hold a meeting on the 21st to decide whether to approve the use of the COVID-19 vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer and Bioentech.
