Built in 1928 in Cologne (Germany), this boat with a bare steel hull and diesel propulsion, 25.5 meters long, served until 1956 as a traditional tugboat on the Seine, before being turned into a pusher.
It was bought by the city of Poses in 1987 on the initiative of its mayor at the time, Mr. Hubert Labrouche.
Yes, yes Betrayer did not have a special historical connection with Poses, nevertheless he found a very welcoming environment in this old sailor’s town.
The owner renovated the villa Betrayer between 1987 and 1992, restoring the boat to its original tug version. At the end of this important reform, The Betrayer (except machinery) is considered a historical monument by decree of March 13, 1992. It is now one of the rare markers of the Seine tugboat fleet. It retained some of its original accommodation, such as the captain’s cabin.
