The price for Dutch natural gas, the European reference, fell to more than 9 percent on Tuesday in Amsterdam. At about 1.30 p.m., he noted at 101.31 euros per megawatt hour.

A week ago, the gas price peaked at more than 180 euros per megawatt hour, due to low temperatures and a decline in the gas supply from Russia. In the meantime, it is less cold and additional ships with liquefied natural gas (LNG) are on their way to Western Europe.

The number of US LNG ships crossing the Atlantic rose by a third over the weekend. A number of ships en route to Asia have changed course, also because suppliers want to take advantage of the current high prices in the European market, where gas is currently more expensive than in Asia.
