“We will leave every drop of sweat and every percent in us on the field.”

The Swedish midfield star Kosovar Asllani says she will be “more than ready” to face the home favorites.

Previous meetings

The last time the teams met was in the bronze medal match in the WC 2019, which Sweden won 2–1. In total, there have been 26 matches between the teams. Sweden has 15 victories and England only three.

“England is supposed to be very happy with what they saw.”

The BBC’s expert commentator Kelly Smithformer national team striker, saw the Swedish game in the quarter-finals against Belgium.

The Swedish injury and illness situation

It has brightened on the covid front in blue-yellow. Right back Hanna Glas has tested negative and is supposed to be back in the starting eleven. Also the back reserve Emma Kullberg is healthy again. However, it is unclear about the left back Jonna Andersson (covid-positive in the quarter-finals) is available for play. The national team chooses to put the lid on – so as not to give England any advance information. The same applies to the status of the team captain Caroline Segers heel, even if the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson on Monday said she is “playable”:
“Then we’ll see how we use it.”
Furthermore, have Olivia Schough not seen at a single one of the voluntary training sessions of the past few days. However, was Kosovar Asllani on Monday back on the pitch.

Watch out for: Three world stars

• Beth Mead, striker, Arsenal.
One of EC’s most impressive wing forwards to date. Leads the EC’s scoring league on five goals.

• Leah Williamson, back, Arsenal.
The confident team captain is a leading figure in the English defence.

• Lucy Bronze, back, Barcelona.
Often described as a complete right-back. Named the world’s best player in 2020.

England have had the same starting eleven in all four matches in the EC.
