European Financial Markets React to ECB Decision on Interest Rates – STM, Snam, and Banks in Focus

The central institution did not change interest rates. STM limits flexion. Snam and banks are also in the red. Important insights among MidCap companies.

The major Italian Stock Exchange indices and the main European financial markets recorded fractional declinesafter monetary policy decisions of the ECB. The central institute decided not to change interest rates, confirming the reference rate at 4.5%.

The Italian-French group has communicated the financial results for the 4th quarter of 2023, a period closed with a decline in revenues and margins, results slightly lower than management estimates. STM leaders also provided some financial estimates for the current quarter and full 2024.

Banking sector stocks are in the spotlightafter the increases achieved in the previous session.

Negative intonation for UniCredit (-1,7% a 26,535 euro).

Also bad BancoBPM (-1,63%) e BPER Bank (-2,06%).

In sharp decline Snam (-2,53% a 4,51 euro). The company presented the 2023/2027 industrial plan. In particular, in the period under review the management expects investments of 11.5 billion euros, an increase of 15% compared to the 10 billion of the 2022/2026 plan. The dividend policy has been revised, which now provides for a minimum growth increased to 3%. compared to 2.5% in the previous plan.

On the contrary, Hera gains 4.25% to 3.088 euros.

The strong rise of Tod’s (+7,78% a 33,24 euro). The company has communicated preliminary data relating to the 2023 financial year, closed with revenues of 1.13 billion euros, an increase of 11.9% compared to the 1.01 billion obtained in 2022; at constant exchange rates, turnover would have increased by 14%.

Very good too Brembo (+3,29% a 11,29 euro). Berenberg analysts began coverage on the company with a target price of 14 euros and a buy indication of the shares.

In sharp decline, however, Juventus FC (-5,57%).
