European Film Festival: Cinema Mobile DocumentART on Tour – April 11th to May 31st

It’s that time again: The cinema mobile document ART travels overland from April 11th to May 31st. It has films in its luggage that were shown and widely discussed at the 30th documentART in October 2023 in Neubrandenburg. The spring tour also stops in Demmin: On Friday, April 19th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Café 3K community meeting point at Clara-Zetkin-Straße 16, there will be the opportunity to see special works by young European filmmakers.

Films that can be understood across borders

“We have selected European films that we hope will be understood across borders, even if we don’t speak the language,” says Holm-Henning Freier, long-time chairman of the organizing film association Latücht eV from Neubrandenburg.

For example, it tells the story of an Arab boy’s long journey to his dream country of Europe and his arrival in what he finds to be a harsh reality. Or it’s about a Spanish girl’s little escapes from her patriarchal, narrow world. Another film reports on a researcher who lives in a hut in the forest in Costa Rica and studies fluorescent frogs. What to do if they suddenly disappear?

But it’s not just innovative films that are on the program at Demminer Café 3K. Afterwards there is also the opportunity to talk to filmmakers and organizers.
