The European Figure Skating Championships will take place from January 10 to 14. Initially, the tournament was supposed to be hosted by Budapest, but in May 2023, the Hungarian authorities renounced this right due to financial difficulties. The ISU urgently reviewed the applications from Sofia, Warsaw and Kaunas, making the final choice in favor of the Lithuanian Zalgiris Arena.

European Figure Skating Championships: who to watch, favorites
There will be no Russian national team, but there will still be plenty of skaters in one way or another connected with our country. For example, Anastasia Gubanova will defend the championship title (an incredibly difficult task, but anything is possible), and Minerva Fabien Haze and Nikita Volodin Thanks to their victory in the Grand Prix final, they are approaching the tournament as the strongest couple on the planet (with an asterisk, but still). It should also be noted Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkinawho will debut at the continental championship under the Georgian flag.
As for the future winners of gold medals, there is little intrigue here: in the women’s tournament, according to almost all forecasts, victory should be won by Luna Hendrix, which, although she makes mistakes, the judges forgive the Belgian every second blot and pour in the components; men will most likely win the title for the second year in a row Adamu Xiao Him Fa; in pairs a fight is expected between Khaze/Volodin and Sarai Conti / Niccolò Macchiwell, in dancing Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri after a convincing silver medal in the Grand Prix final, they will relinquish the title of the strongest duet in Europe only in the most extreme case.
