Yesterday, Saturday, several European cities witnessed demonstrations denouncing the continuation of the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon, coinciding with the 107th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which led to the acceleration of the establishment of the State of Israel.
Britain
Tens of thousands of demonstrators took part in the British capital, London, with a march that started from the headquarters of the British government and reached the building of the American embassy in London.
The demonstrators demanded that the British and American governments stop arming Israel, stop their complicity in its war on Gaza and Lebanon, and stop the genocide against the Palestinian people, as they described it.
The Secretary General of the Union of Universities and Colleges in Britain, Jo Grady, delivered a speech to the demonstrators in which she pointed out the killing of more than 43,000 Palestinians at the hands of Israel in Gaza.
People and groups supporting Israel also organized counter-protests along the march route.
Germany
More than a thousand people gathered near a metro station in Berlin, to denounce the attacks launched by Israel on Gaza for more than a year, and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The demonstrators marched around the station, raising Palestinian flags and banners demanding that the German government stop supplying Israel with weapons that are used to kill the Palestinian people.
German police forces arrested many demonstrators during the march, which led to confrontations, and many participants supporting Palestine were subjected to violence and arrest.
The participants in the demonstration were forced to end it due to police intervention to disperse them, and after they refused to leave the place, the police stopped another large group of demonstrators.

The demonstrators gathered in the Odenplan area and marched towards the Swedish Parliament building, carrying children’s dolls, in reference to the children who were killed by the Israeli war machine in the Gaza Strip.

France
In the center of the French capital, Paris, demonstrators blocked traffic on a street in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and to denounce the Israeli bombing of Gaza and Lebanon.
Türkiye
A group of Turks organized a protest in front of the British Embassy in Ankara on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. Participants in the protest called for by the Turkish “Solidarity with Palestine” platform chanted anti-British slogans.
In his speech during the rally, platform official Aziz Oguzhan Karaman said that the Balfour Declaration is not a historical event that remained in the past, but rather a living reality of the genocide taking place in Palestine.
He pointed out that the genocide taking place in Palestine is a consequence of the Balfour Declaration, stressing that occupation and oppression have continued in the Palestinian territories since that promise until today.
He added that the exhibition of Britain’s sins does not consist only of the Balfour Declaration, but that promise cannot be ignored as a historical document from the past.
