European Clubs Eyeing Boavista’s Róbert Boženík for Winter Transfer – Feyenoord to Cash In

Róbert Boženík has attracted the attention of several European clubs thanks to his strong performances with Portuguese side Boavista. A winter departure is obvious, which will also make the cash register ring at Feyenoord.

The former Feyenoord player has eight goals and two assists to his name in sixteen games this season. Boženík also made himself heard with the Slovak national team this season, with a goal and an assist on Feyenoord defender Dávid Hancko in qualifying matches for the 2024 European Football Championship. The Slovaks have now qualified and will be in a group with Romania, Belgium and the winner of the play-offs between Bosnia, Israel, Ukraine and Iceland.

Several clubs, including Torino, Bologna FC 1909 and Lille OSC, have shown concrete interest in the Slovak goalgetter. Lille OSC was already interested last summer, but his current club Boavista managed to prevent a deal. Boavista already rented the Slovak from Feyenoord a season earlier and lifted the purchase option of two and a half million euros last summer. At the time, Feyenoord stipulated a resale percentage of twenty percent on a possible profit.

Boženík is currently being promoted Transfer market estimated at a transfer value of five million euros, while Lille OSC is willing to pay around six million euros for the striker. A winter departure for Boženík is obvious, especially because Boavista is still financially strapped. Lille OSC are currently seen as the main candidate for the Slovakian striker’s signature, where he can compete with Jonathan David, currently the Ligue 1 club’s only real striker.

With the aforementioned amounts, Feyenoord can save around seven euros extra from Boženík, who was previously labeled as a failure by negative trainers and critics in the media.
