Two European Cities Stole My Heart, Two I’m Happy to Have Checked Off My List
After six months exploring Europe in a journey defined by slow travel, I’ve experienced the charm and diversity of numerous cities. The "slow travel" mindset, which emphasizes quality time immersed in each destination, was essential to truly connect with the places I visited. From bustling metropolises to charming towns, I traversed 13 vibrant cities across the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
While each city held its own allure, two in particular left an indelible mark and I simply can’t wait to return: Edinburgh and Amsterdam.
“[I] was blown away by Edinburgh and Amsterdam and can’t wait to return,” I recount, still captivated by their unique magic.
Edinburgh’s historic charm and vibrant energy, coupled with Amsterdam’s stunning canals and liberal spirit, etched themselves onto my memory.
Zurich and Cardiff, while interesting, hold lesser appeal for a future visit. They were enjoyable experiences, but I feel compelled to explore other cities waiting to be discovered.
My six-month European adventure wasn’t just about sightseeing; it was about embracing a slower pace, allowing myself to truly experience each destination’s unique character. This deliberate approach to travel allowed for deeper connections with both places and people, culminating in memories that will last a lifetime.
