Lefteris Petrounias made history at the European Championship in Rimini as he was crowned European champion in hoops for the seventh time.
He was crowned European champion for 2024 after a great performance in the hoops final, reaching nine medals in the event, including 7 gold and two bronze.
He came through with the best performance from the qualifier (14,966 points), in the final he scored 15,000 beating his main rival and last year’s European champion in Antalya, Adem Asil from Turkey, who scored 14,900 points.
He performed his program last in the final among the eight finalists, scoring 15,000 points (difficulty score: 6,300, execution score: 8,700).
Thus, he returned to the top of Europe for the seventh time.
