European Automakers Produce 4.1 Million Cars in 2021: 18% Increase from 2020

The European automotive flagship produced 4.1 million new cars last year, which is 18 percent more than in 2022.

The past year has been productive for the German automotive industry, reports Automobilwoche. According to the Automotive Industry Association (VDA), automotive companies produced 4.1 million cars, which is 18 percent more than in 2022, but twelve percent less than in the pre-pandemic year of 2019.

Exports are said to have risen by around 17 percent to 3.1 million vehicles, which is still down from 2019, when 3.5 million cars were exported.

Domestic orders decreased by 18 percent compared to the previous year, while orders from abroad decreased by three percent.
