As part of a Europe-wide operation against a clan, the police searched several properties in the Stade district, Harburg as well as in Poland and Spain on Friday. The members are said to have traded across borders and embezzled around six million euros. The Federal Criminal Police Office was also involved in the searches. Twelve suspects were taken into custody.
The investigations have been ongoing since 2020. The investigators were targeting a cooperative in Drochtersen. Here, members’ funds are said to have been embezzled by being passed on to dummy companies abroad.

The accused are members of a clan from the Stade district. In the cross-border operation, a total of 29 properties were searched in Stade, Neu Wulmstorf, Hamburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lodz (Poland) as well as Barcelona and Mallorca (Spain). Twelve suspects were arrested.

According to a spokeswoman, luxury goods such as high-quality cars, watches and real estate were confiscated during the searches. Around 230 emergency services were involved in the raid, including special units, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and Europol.
