Europe “is forcing Apple to do the right thing,” says the “father” of the iPod

or The European Parliament decided this week that, from 2024all electronic devices will need to have a USBC connection, which means Apple will be forced to abandon the Lightning connector that is still present on their respective devices.

Well, the one who is considered the ‘father’ of the iPod, Tony Fadell, has made a series of publications on his Twitter page in which he agrees with the decision of the European body.

Asked by a follower what would happen to Apple if it were forced to use USB 1.1 instead of the (higher at the time) FireWire, Fadell noted that USB-C is a different case.

“I don’t see any problems. The world is converging on USB-C. Physical and usability limits have been reached. So we won’t have wires, not a different physical connector. So I’m not too worried about this regulation. They are simply forcing Apple to do the right thing … frankly, it’s too late. “wrote Fadell.

The purpose of this European Parliament measure is to protect the interests of consumers (who will no longer have to buy cables for different devices) and the environment by reducing the amount of electronic waste.
