The American president will make his first trip abroad in mid-June, to the United Kingdom and then to Belgium, for the G7 and NATO summits and a meeting with the leaders of the European Union. The opportunity for Joe Biden to concretize his desire to regain the confidence of European partners with whom he wishes to work “in close collaboration”. The announcement of the trip has rekindled speculation about a possible meeting in Europe with Vladimir Putin.

Joe Biden will attend the G7 summit June 11-13 in Cornwall. On this occasion, he will see several leaders one-on-one, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He will then take part in the NATO summit in Brussels on June 14. The meeting will come shortly after the Allies’ decision to begin withdrawing troops from Afghanistan on 1is May.
In Brussels, he will also participate in an EU / US summit with the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission.
