On May 5, 1821, Napoleon I died on the island of St. Helena. On the occasion of the bicentennial of his death, Europe 1 dedicates a special day to him, and broadcasts three unreleased episodes of a podcast dedicated to the man he was, behind his stature as a favorite historical personality of the French .
Europe 1 offers, this Wednesday, May 5, to discover in three episodes the life of “Napoleon, this unknown”. From Napoleon writing fiery letters to Josephine in the middle of the battlefield to Napoleon not going to war without perfuming himself with cologne … listeners will discover another face of this historical character that we do not find in history books. Told by Laure Dautriche, directed by Sébastien Guidis with the participation of Stéphane Bern, these three episodes were produced from the archives of Europe 1, from reconstitutions of scenes that marked his epic and fed by reports produced in places dear to Napoleon .
Europe 1 offers, on this occasion, a special device throughout the day on its antenna:
- “Tete-a-tete” (7:40 am): Laure Dautriche is the guest of Matthieu Belliard. She will tell the microphone of Europe 1 behind the scenes of this unique sound story.
- Historically Yours (4 pm-6pm): “Fascinated by Napoleon! “. On the occasion of the bicentenary of his death, Matthieu Noël and Stéphane Bern bring together three personalities to commemorate this event: Beethoven, Friedrich Nietzsche and Serge Lama who appears in the episodes of the podcast.
