Europa League Results: Atalanta sacked by RB Leipzig

Atalanta have to stop in the quarterfinals Europa League. La Dea lost 0-2 to RB Leipzig in the second leg which means that it will fall with an aggregate of 1-3.

Competing at Gewiss Stadium, Friday (15/4/2022) early morning WIB, Atalanta immediately appeared pressing from the first minute. A shot from Davide Zappacosta in the fourth minute was aimed at the goal, but the Leipzig goalkeeper was still able to counter.

The visitors turned to threaten in the 12th minute. Benjamin Henrichs fired a shot from inside the penalty box, which the Atalanta goalkeeper also blocked.

Leipzig was able to steal a 1-0 advantage in the 18th minute. A chaos was present in the Atalanta penalty box and Christopher Nkunku managed to finish it into a goal.

Atalanta are in more danger after falling behind. One of them came from Dani Olmo in the 36th minute, but it still hasn’t produced a goal for Leipzig.

There were no additional goals until halftime. Leipzig still lead 1-0 over Atalanta.

La Dea tried to find a goal back as quickly as possible in the second half. However, the attack from the team made by Gian Piero Gasperini was still raw in the penalty box.

Atalanta really seem to lose their minds in front of their own fans. The Italian club lost aggressively to Lepizig and repeatedly had to make tackles to quell the opponent’s quick attack.

Bad luck befell Atalanta in the 87th minute. Christopher Nkunku was violated in the penalty box and the referee immediately pointed to the spot.

Christopher Nkunku stepped up as executor. Juan Muso read the ball’s direction, but it still penetrated the net and made Leipzig a 2-0 lead.

Atalanta tried to respond as quickly as possible in such a tight time. On the other hand, Leipzig defended so precisely that it made it difficult for Atalanta to enter the penalty box.
