This Tuesday, October 12, FDJ and the entire Euromillions community are offering, for the first time, a historic jackpot of 220 million euros.
If this jackpot is won in France, it will be the biggest gain in the history of FDJ but also
of the record in the whole of the European community. Currently, the record stands at
210 million euros, won by a Swiss player last February. In France, the biggest
jackpot was won in December 2020 to the tune of 200 million euros.
The current jackpot cap is set at € 220 million. It can be put into play for five
consecutive draws, before necessarily being won or shared. At the end of this cycle, the ceiling
will increase by 10 million euros to 230 million euros. The same mechanism
will apply up to a maximum ceiling of 250 million euros.
Since the game’s launch in February 2004, 516 jackpots have been won overall
of the Euromillions community. The United Kingdom has 114 winners; France is
second class like Spain with 112 winners.
As a reminder, these are the three countries at the origin of the creation of the game. Since then, they have been joined
by six other countries.
