A few days after winning the € 200 million jackpot at EuroMillions, the lucky winner finally showed up. The French had validated his ticket on the internet.
He really didn’t want to dream of a better Christmas present. On December 11, a Frenchman won the biggest win ever in Europe. At the end of the third attempt, he managed to find the five correct numbers (the 6, the 9, the 13, the 24 and the 41) as well as the two correct stars (the 3 and the 12) and thus won 200 millions of euros ! Visibly incredulous, he took several days to make himself known to the French gameswoman, which allows its winners to benefit from 120 days to come forward during the coronavirus pandemic. According to The Parisian, the happy new millionaire approached the FDJ on Wednesday December 16, five days after the draw. And unlike the vast majority of usual players, the winner had validated his EuroMillions grid online. It would therefore be thanks to the luck that he would have won 200 million euros!
According to LCI and the local media, he would live in the Arcachon basin. According to information from our colleagues from South West, who were contacted by one of the new millionaire’s relatives, the lucky winner is a 43-year-old man who is believed to live not far from the town of Biganos. He would be single, have no children and work as a salesperson. “It was incredible news for him. It’s a surreal amount. You can buy yourself whatever you want with that”, explained his friend in the Southwest columns. A few days after having validated his grid, he called the FDJ to come forward. Contrary to usual and because of the health situation, he will not be able to go to the company’s headquarters to have his check returned to him.. But according to the Française des jeux, he will be paid “soon”. Like the other big winners, he will also benefit from significant support in place to avoid being overtaken by the situation.
A new life as a millionaire
The FDJ has in fact set up support “individual and tailor-made” for all winners over one million euros. “The Winners Relations department supports the winners individually and tailor-made at the time of winning, and offers collective support for a period of 5 years. The goal: that their life afterwards resemble the one they have always dreamed of. The objective is to give the winner the first common sense advice, to tell him to take his time, to think“, explains the FDJ on this subject. Concretely, several workshops will be offered to him to manage his new fortune (the 410th worldwide!). “We also offer the services of a coach who allows the winners to better appropriate the gains and to assert themselves in particular vis-à-vis their new financial contacts”, explained Isabelle Cesari, head of Grand Winner Relations. A few days before Christmas, the lucky winner will be able to radically change his life.
