Luckily he finally smiles. A couple won, on December 5, 2022, 25 million euros after validating your Lotus grid in a tobacco bar in Paris. And this after playing the same grid for ten years. This is the third largest win in the national lottery. But others, in the capital, have won even more.
66 million euros won at Euromillions
On 29 January 2016, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, a winning Euromillions ticket earned its owner more than 66 million euros. After more than ten draws without a winner, the jackpot that had reached the astronomical €132 million found takers among the millions of players that night, two winners, in Paris and Ireland. Become the ninth biggest winner in the history of the lottery in France.
As the site says Winning Tickets“above all he becomes the biggest winner in the Parisian capital, all lotteries combined and thus dethrones another Euromillions player who won 61 million euros in 2006”.
It was at the “Calumet des Halles”, at 45 rue Montorgueil, that the winning grid was played out.
Play the same grid twice
Inevitably, with this gain, the winner relegates far behind the other major winners. That of 2006 therefore that he had pocketed 61 million euros after playing near the Gare du Nord, in the 10th arrondissement. He was a resident of Montbard (Côte d’Or) who had played twice on the same grid. He had done it the first time with his favorite combination but during the day, not remembering whether he had already played or not, he had started again in another store.
Being the only one who found the right combination, he shared the sum with himself.
It wasn’t the first. “Two same grids had been played in Ile-de-France, in January 2013, for a jackpot of 38 million euros shared with an Englishman, the Française des Jeux later recalled. The second time, in May 2007, a pot of more than 53 million euros was won by a player who validated 2 same grids in Paris and shared the jackpot with another player who played Ille-et-Vilaine”.
At Loto, a player also won €22m in July 2013, after playing in the 2nd arrondissement.
