THE Maccabi Tel Aviv will be Panathinaikos’ opponent in the Euroleague playoffs, after their easy victory over Baskonia with 113-85 (halftime 55-36). The “greens” will have the home advantage, while the champion of Israel will play their “home” matches in neutral Belgrade in camera.
For her Maccabi of Odent Katas, Lorenzo Brown starred, with 29 points and 7/8 three-pointers. Wade Baldgun added 26 points, while Colson (14), Cleveland (11) also scored. From Dusko Ivanovic’s Vaskonia, Miller-McIntyre was the top scorer with 32, while Nikos Rogavopoulos finished the game with 10 points.
THE Baskonia will have another chance to qualify for the playoffs, since it will host on Friday Virtues Bologna, triumphant over Efes with 67-64 yesterday in Istanbul. The winner of the match will face Real in a 5-game series, with the prize a place in the Euroleague final-four.
The pairings in the playoffs
The other two pairs of the quarterfinals are Barcelona–Olympic and Monaco–Fenerbahce.
The playoffs will begin coming Tuesday (23/4) in OAKA and in Madridwhile they will continue the next day (24/4) at Barcelona and to Monaco. The final-4 is scheduled to be held on May 24-26 in Berlin.
