The National Children’s National Team ended its attempt at EuroBasket U16 without a medal, after being defeated in the short final by Serbia with 65-74 and finishing in 4th place.
The Greek team appeared affected by yesterday’s ignominious defeat in the semi-final (71-77 against Spain, while they had a 67-56 lead) and found themselves losing 10-21 and 21-35 at the start.
The difference reached 16 points in favor of the Serbs in the fourth period. Our National team reduced it to 62-67 with Chrysostomos Hatzilambros as the protagonist, but could not get within shooting distance.
Hatzilambrou 21, Skliros 15, Chaidemenos 9, Barbagiannis 6, Cartonas 5, Thomakos 5 stood out from the team of Yiannis Kalambokis.
The match took place in front of 1,000 spectators in Heraklion.
