Media accreditation procedures
Accreditation requests for the matches of the second window of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 European Qualifiers are open. Inserted in Group B, Italy will challenge Iceland in a back to back match. Friday 22 November in Reykjavík (8.30 pm in Italy) and Monday 25 November at the PalaBigi in Reggio Emilia (8.30 pm).
All accreditation requests must be received by Tuesday 19 November 2024 (11.59pm CET) via the FIBA Media Portal at the following link: accreditation.fiba.com
For those who already have an account, simply enter your credentials (email address and password) to access the procedure and select the desired event. The online accreditation procedure is a simple request and does not guarantee the automatic granting of accreditation.

What strategies do both teams plan to implement to gain a competitive edge in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers?
Thank you for joining us today for this interview about the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket 2025 European Qualifiers matches between Italy and Iceland. We have two esteemed guests with us, Maria Garcia, the Head Coach of the Italian women’s national basketball team, and Sigurdur Gunnarsson, the Head Coach of the Icelandic women’s national basketball team.
Maria, as Italy’s Head Coach, could you share your thoughts on the importance of these matches and how the team has been preparing for them?
Maria Garcia: Of course, thank you for having me. These games are extremely important for us as we continue our journey towards the FIBA EuroBasket 2025. The team has been working very hard in the past few months, both individually and collectively, to improve our skills and strategies. We have been focusing on our physical preparation, as well as our mental approach to the game. Our training sessions have been intense and we have been trying out new lineups to find the best combination of players to lead us to victory. We are excited for the challenges ahead and are looking forward to showcasing our abilities on the court.
Sigurdur, as the Icelandic team’s Head Coach, what are your expectations for these upcoming matches against Italy? Do you have any particular areas of focus for your team?
Sigurdur Gunnarsson: First of all, thank you for inviting me. We are also very excited for these matches against Italy. We have been preparing hard and we know that Italy is a strong team with a lot of talented players. Our focus is on playing our game to the best of our abilities and executing our strategies effectively. We want to take advantage of our home court advantage in the first match and then adjust our game plan accordingly for the second match in Reggio Emilia. We are especially working on improving our defense and rebounding ahead of these crucial games.

Maria Garcia: Media coverage is crucial for any team, as it allows us to share our story with a wider audience and connect with our fans. It
