Euro95 at more and more gas stations under 2 euros: here you pay the least

Oil prices are going down and you notice that at the pump, also in Brabant. For the first time since February, the price of Euro95 petrol is falling below the two euro limit in more and more places. Prices are lowest in West Brabant.

This is apparent from data from comparison site Independer, one of the services that keeps track of tank prices in the Netherlands. These are the ten cheapest places to refuel in our province (Friday prices):

  1. Makro Breda (Konijnenberg 92) – €1.89
  2. Hoge Vucht Breda (Brasskastraat 71-73) – €1.90
  3. Sakko Nieuwe Kadijk Breda (New Kadijk 25) – €1.90
  4. Tinq Breda (Crogtdijk 10) – €1.92
  5. Tinq Breda Hoge Vucht (Deinzestraat 385) – €1.92
  6. Total Sint-Oedenrode (Eerschotsestraat 72) – €1.94
  7. Car Kar Steenbergen (Franseweg 1) – €1,94
  8. Sakko Standout there (Markweg 1) – €1.94
  9. Sakko Oudenbosch (Molenstraat 2) – €1.94
  10. Firezone Eindhoven (Boutenslaan 34) – €1.95

For a relatively cheap refueling you should therefore mainly be in the west of the province and in particular Breda. In Central Brabant, and in particular the Tilburg region, prices are slightly higher, says Independer.

Yet you still pay the most in the east of Brabant. The cheapest gas station in Den Bosch, for example, is Argos Oil on the Zandzuistraat. There you pay 1.98 per litre.

Recession lurking
Oil prices have fallen significantly recently. This is mainly due to concerns about a possible economic recession, which will reduce oil demand. As a result, motorists spend less money on fuel at the pump.

According to consumer collective UnitedConsumers, the suggested retail price for a liter of Euro95 is now 2,198 euros. This means that the petrol price is below 2.20 euros for the first time since February of this year. The fact that you can still fill up under 2 euros in Brabant is because gas stations often deviate from those recommended prices. Usually, motorists only pay the suggested retail prices along the highway.

Across the border
Incidentally, it is and remains worthwhile to drive to Belgium if you want to get the most out of it, because the petrol and diesel is still cheaper there. Just across the border at Poppel you pay 1.77 euros per liter of petrol. The cheapest option in Brabant cannot compete with that.
