Eure-et-Loir. Consumption of alcohol on public roads prohibited in eleven municipalities

No consumption or sale alcohol to take away and on the public highway in several cities of Eure-et-Loir and especially in the conurbations of Chartres and Dreux from this Wednesday, July 13, 2022. The prefect of Eure-et-Loir has taken measures to “prevent any incident or disturbance of public order during the July 14 festivities”.

In addition to the ban on fireworks, the authorities are tightening the screws and taking additional measures with this ban.

Which municipalities are affected?

In fact, it will be forbidden to drink alcohol on public roads in Chartresin Coudray, in Lucé, Lèves, Mainvilliers, Champhol and Barjouville, as well as in Dreux, Vernouillet, Luray and Saint-Gemme-Moronval from this Wednesday July 13, 2022, 8 p.m. and until tomorrow Thursday July 14, 2022, 8 hours, then tomorrow evening, from 8 p.m. and until Friday July 5, 2022, 8 a.m.

Shops that will be open during the same hours will also not be able to sell any type of alcoholic drink to take away, specifies the prefecture and in the same municipalities.

Police and gendarmes mobilized all weekend

It should be noted that around forty police forces will be mobilized in Chartres for the festivities, and in Dreux, reinforced, in this sub-prefectural city, by a unit of mobile forces, of around 80 gendarmes.
