As part of the investment project of common European interest, 36.3 million euros were invested for the improvement of the operation of the underground gas deposit in Inčukalna (PGK), including investments for 9.7 million euros made in the nine months of this year, carrying out both the renovation of the well and the purchase and installation of various equipment, reports the operator of the unified natural gas transport and storage system AS “Baltic grid Conexus“(” Conexus “).

This year, the restoration work has been completed in 8 wells, therefore, in total, the restoration work has already been completed in 29 of the 36 wells.

While working on improving the gas collection point, the project for the construction of the gas collection point no. 3 to be restored – currently all the necessary pipes and fittings have been delivered, as well as part of the basic technological equipment. At the same time, the second phase of the construction works contract is underway, which involves the submission of technical and financial offers by the applicants.

Furthermore, the modernization works of three of the five gas pumping units existing in the compressor workshop no. 2, as well as installed three out of five plants for the preparation of fuel and impulsive gases. Work is underway for the assembly of the remaining two equipment for the preparation of fuel and impulse gas, as well as the supply of equipment for the modernization of the last two gas pumping units.

At the beginning of October a contract was signed with the internationally recognized company “Solar Turbines” for the supply of a new complex of gas pumping units with a contractual amount of 21.65 million euros. The technical solutions of the new gas pumping unit are currently being worked on, so that the company can start its production in the near future, as well as the ongoing design work provided by the Slovak company “GasOil Technology as”.

In collaboration with colleagues and partners , we were able to complete the essential and technically complex works, thereby improving the technical infrastructure and equipment of the operational safety of the storage facility. “

The project is in progress until the end of 2025 and its total investment amount is 88 million euros, of which half, or 50%, is covered by funding from the Connecting Europe Infrastructure (CEF) funds. As part of the project, the restoration of the surface infrastructure and wells, the modernization of the five existing gas pumping units, as well as the installation of a new additional gas pumping unit, is foreseen, improving the security of supply. of natural gas, increasing storage capacity and promoting integration into the international energy market.
