EUR 23.8 million will be available for the reconstruction of the support infrastructure related to the ‘Rail Baltica’ project

With the European Union (EU) funding in the amount of 85% of the total eligible costs, it will be possible to ensure the reconstruction of the infrastructure related to the construction of the Rail Baltica railway line in the center of Riga and the adjacent territory, including construction, reconstruction and renewal of transport, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, promoting the creation of a multimodal transport hub.

The support is intended for both design and construction works, landscaping, as well as the necessary purchase of related real estate.

The project application must be submitted to the CFLA by Riga City Municipality by January 6, 2022, while the project implementation must be completed by the end of 2023.

CF support for infrastructure reconstruction in Riga is envisaged in the planning document – Operational Program “Growth and Employment” 6.1.7. Specific support objective “Enabling a multimodal transport system” 6.1.7.1. Measure “Reconstruction of the support infrastructure related to the” Rail Baltica “project”.
