Grazing is a way of life in Tierra Estella. A tradition that is also sustainable, which endures today with a lot of effort in the beautiful surroundings of the Amescoa Valley. To learn about and pay tribute to this ancient craft, Eulate hosts this Saturday, October 12, the Shepherd’s Day-Artzai Egunaan event in which, coinciding with the holiday, you can enjoy a attractive activity program in this town at the foot of Urbasa.

– Exhibition: ‘From the sheep to the needles’.
– Exhibition: ‘Latxa sheep, goats, donkeys and shepherd dogs’.

– Demonstration of leather tanning.
– Inflatables and triki.
- 1:30 p.m.: tribute, raffle of cheeses and other local products.

- 9:00 p.m.: astronomical activity ‘Astroruralízate’.
Throughout the morning, a traveling oral storytelling show ‘Shepherding Stories’ will take place. Likewise, tickets for the raffle and t-shirts will be sold.

The event is organized by the Tierra Estella-Lizarraldea Tourism Consortium together with the Améscoas Limitations Board. This festive day aims to promote the valley, publicize the pastoral culture and highlight the excellent gastronomic product, the Amescoa cheese.
