Eugenie Bouchard and his partner are on fire

Nothing can stop Eugenie Bouchard and her partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands who won a third consecutive duel, Friday, at the World Team Tennis (WTT), in West Virginia.

The Chicago Smash women’s duo defeated the New York Empire’s duo of Kim Clijsters and Sabine Lisicki, 5-2. Clijsters was replaced by Kveta Peschke, when his team lost the duel 3-0.

Six service failures took place in seven games, the Quebecer being the only one to win one of her service parts.

The Illinois squad snatched a 22-21 snatch victory over their rivals in their fourth duel of the competition. Smash sits at the top of the tournament standings, along with the Philadelphia Freedoms, with three wins and one loss.

The mixed doubles and men’s matches were to the advantage of the Empire with identical scores of 5-4 (4).

Sloane Stephens, on the other hand, escaped his meeting in the women’s singles, losing 5-2 against Clijsters.

It was Brandon Nakashima who finally gave the Smash victory. The American defeated Jack Sock by a score of 5-4 (4) in the men’s singles, then he won the additional point to create a 21-21 tie. Nakashima finally won the deciding game 7-5, still ahead of Sock.
