European Union, US, Canada and UK have imposed new sanctions against the regime Alexander Lukashenko.
“Today, in response to prolonged attacks on human rights and fundamental freedoms in Belarus, disregard for international norms and repeated acts of repression, we have resumed coordinated sanctions against individual individuals and legal entities,” the parties said in a joint statement.
The United States added 20 individuals, 12 organizations and three aircraft of Belarus to the sanctions list, in particular, fell under restrictive measures Lukashenko’s son Dmitry; Head of the State Border Committee of Belarus Anatoly Lappo.
Canada has imposed sanctions against 24 people and seven companies in Belarus. There is a prosecutor on their list Alina Kasyanchik, Dmitry Lukashenko, Lappo and others.
Great Britain added Belaruskali to the sanctions list and eight people.
Also, the EU sanctions have officially entered into force. The list of EU sanctions includes 17 officials and 11 organizations. As the correspondent of Radio Liberty reports, there are only 183 people and 26 legal entities in the list of EU sanctions against Belarus.
New restrictive measures are being introduced against the background of the migration crisis on the border with Belarus, of which the West blames Alexander Lukashenko. Minsk continues to deny that they specially bring migrants to the border. According to the Polish authorities, there are now about 10 thousand migrants from the Middle East at the border.
