The community will finance the voluntary return of illegal immigrants from Belarus to their countries of origin.
The European Union has agreed on the allocation of about 3.5 million euros to help migrants who wish to return to their home countries from Belarus. About this on Tuesday, November 23, stated head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, speaking before the European deputies.
“More and more migrants are trapped and we will work with UN agencies to facilitate their return home. We will mobilize up to € 3.5 million to support voluntary return from Belarus,” she said.
In addition, the head of the EC added, the community will triple the funds allocated to Lithuania, Latvia and Poland for 2021 and 2022 to strengthen the borders.
