Josep Borrell offers assistance to Kazakhstan in resolving the crisis

The European Union called on to respect the fundamental rights of citizens of Kazakhstan and the sovereignty of the country.

The European Union is ready to help Kazakhstan in resolving the crisis. This was announced on Saturday, January 8, by the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell, reported on website European External Action Service.

“We are ready to assist in finding a peaceful solution to the crisis,” Borrell said in a statement.

“Military support from outside should be carried out with respect for the sovereignty and independence of Kazakhstan and the fundamental rights of its citizens,” added the head of the EU’s foreign policy.

He also called on the countries that have sent their military contingent to Kazakhstan within the framework of the CSTO to respect the sovereignty of this country.

It was previously reported that Germany has stopped supplying weapons to Kazakhstan because of the permission of President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev to open fire on protesters without warning.
