Next week, European Chief Prosecutor Laura Coveschi will visit Bulgaria at the invitation of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. This was announced by the Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova on Nova TV.

Talks on how best to combat “high” corruption, especially when it involves European funds, continue. One of the important things we are working on is for the anti-corruption commission to be able to refer European prosecutors directly when it finds corruption crimes with European funds, explained Minister Yordanova.

She added that on Wednesday the National Assembly will consider at first reading the bill, which provides for the closure of specialized justice. “I expect an extremely in-depth, probably” hot “debate in parliament to review all aspects of the bill,” Nadezhda Yordanova said.

According to her, the bill was made extremely precisely. The minister expects the bill for changes in the anti-corruption commission to be submitted to the parliament soon.
