The EU has prepared the 11th package of sanctions against Russia. Permanent representatives to the EU plan to agree on the approval of the document on June 7, the newspaper writes. Politico with reference to diplomats.
As stated, the new package is dedicated to the fight against circumvention of sanctions, as well as restrictive measures against countries that help Russia in this.
The media notes that some issues are still open, and the permanent representatives will have to reach agreements on them. At the same time, the EU has already softened the initial initiatives of the European Commission. The publication also writes that Hungary and Greece allegedly intend to block the adoption of a new package of sanctions until Ukraine excludes some companies from these countries from the list of “conflict sponsors”.
The last, 10th package of EU sanctions was imposed against Russia on February 25. It expanded export-import and personal restrictions, as well as introduced new bans on the work of Russian media.
