The permanent representatives of the member states of the European Union at a meeting on Friday failed to agree on the eleventh package of sanctions against Russia, another meeting is scheduled for next week.
Writes about it “European truth” with reference to “Polish Radio”.
According to Andrzej Sadosz, Polish Ambassador to the EU, many issues related to sanctions against the Russian Federation are very technical and complex, and therefore require careful expert analysis. At the same time, he expressed hope that the sanctions package could be agreed upon at the next meeting.
Sados noted that the new package takes into account Poland’s proposal to extend sanctions to propagandists and judges who pass sentences in political trials, as well as the imposition of restrictions on Russian transport companies.
He recalled that Warsaw also calls for a ban on the import of agri-food products from Russia to the EU: “In the current situation, we see no justification for extending the permit for the import of Russian agri-food products.”
We will remind, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday in Kyiv said that the new sanctions will be aimed at combating bypass trade restrictions already in place and developed “in very close coordination” with the G7 countries.
According to media reports, the European Union also offers officially stop deliveries of Russian oil to Germany and Poland.
