Peskov said Russia hoped the visit of the four EU leaders would contribute to Ukraine adopting a more realistic stance in its conflict with Russia.
Even so, he said, Russia was, however, skeptical about the prospect of Ukraine returning to the negotiating table.
“Moscow hopes that the four leaders will not focus solely on supporting Ukraine by pumping full arms,” said a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, pointing out that this policy is completely useless and will only prolong the suffering of the people and inflict further damage.
“On the contrary, Moscow hopes that the four European leaders can use these contacts to get Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to take a realistic stance on the situation,” Peskov added. Russia TodayThursday (16/6/2022).

Moscow also hopes the visit will help clarify Ukraine’s position on grain exports.
“Russia’s position on this issue has not changed,” Peskov said, adding that Moscow was still ready to facilitate grain exports from Ukrainian ports.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Ukrainian forces had to defuse mines in coastal areas first to make this possible.
