“Lavrov should tell his master that Europe and the OSCE remain united against Russia’s illegal aggression.”
This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borel, at a press conference with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski in Skopje, the special envoy of BGNES in the Macedonian capital, Dimitar Ruskov, reported.
Josep Borrell stressed that the OSCE meeting is a good opportunity for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to hear why Russia is condemned and isolated.

“Your decision to allow Lavrov to participate is consistent with our shared goal of keeping multilateralism alive. This is a good opportunity for him to hear why Russia is condemned and isolated, and then he will be able to go back to the Kremlin and tell the master of the Kremlin that the OSCE and the EU remain united in condemning Russia’s illegal and aggressive behavior,” said Borel.
Constitutional changes must be accepted by North Macedonia in order to continue the EU accession process, Borel told his hosts.
“You must complete the reforms, it is in the interest of all citizens. You may disagree on some issues, but there should be no political division on European Union issues. The road to Europe must be cross-party and everyone must strive for it. If you want to go down this path, you need to complete the constitutional amendment process and make progress on key reforms. This is not beneficial for one party, but for the entire nation and country,” Borel stressed.

“As a government, we are working to introduce European standards. We are consolidating democracy, the rule of law, we have made progress in reforming the judicial system and developing a market economy. We will continue to make progress in these directions. Screening is happening at the expected pace. We are not allowing political disagreements to stop our approach to the EU,” Kovacevski added.
