“We want this to end as soon as possible, but not by any means,” Borrell told the European Parliament on Wednesday (6/4/2022).
“Because if we want to have a devastated country that has been territorially dismembered and neutralized, with millions of people in exile, and millions of people dead, then no, we don’t want this war to end like this,” he said.

“That’s why we have to keep arming Ukraine… More weapons, that’s what Ukraine expects from us, and that’s what we’re doing,” Borrell said.

Borrell and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Kiev this week, according to Brussels.

The European Union announced last month that it was doubling the bloc’s military aid to Ukraine to $1.1 billion.
