The sanctions imposed in 2014 due to the annexation of Crimea were again extended for another year. Also, the EU Council made a decision on Belarus.

At a meeting of the EU Council on Monday, June 21, they approved a decision to extend for a year the sanctions that were introduced for the annexation of Crimea by Russia, which expire on June 23.

Restrictive measures include bans on the import of goods from Crimea or Sevastopol to the EU, as well as infrastructure or financial investments, tourism services in Crimea or Sevastopol.

In addition, the export of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies is subject to EU restrictions for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors or for exploration, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources.

Also, the EU Foreign Ministers approved the fourth package of sanctions against Belarus, as announced by the head of EU diplomacy Joseph Borrell.
