EU computer experts demand a ban on automatic surveillance in public

The shape of your face, your fingerprint, your iris, your gait, your voice and your emotions. This is called biometric data. This information says a lot about you and can be used to identify your movements in the public space.

At the end of June, the European Privacy Council and the European Data Protection Agency called for a total ban on using artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically collect biometric data.
