The publication, citing sources, writes that if the EU member states follow the recommendations of the European Commission, this means that under the usual procedure, it would be possible to quickly agree on reforms for Ukraine for full membership. However, the commission may adopt wording that may take a long time to enter.
According to NOS, the European Commission will make a compromise proposal allowing Ukraine to be declared an EU candidate, and this will be an important political signal from the vast majority of participating countries.
As for Moldova, the granting of candidate status will also be approved for it, but it is expected that in its case there will be more conditions than for Ukraine.
At the same time, it is assumed that Georgia will still not be able to receive the status until it fulfills a “long list of conditions.”
