EU budget. Ryszard Terlecki after the meeting of the United Right: We will want to avoid veto

– Defending sovereignty, both political and economic, is essential. We will want to avoid a veto on the EU budget, if it is possible, i.e. if the ideas directed at Poland and Hungary are withdrawn, said Ryszard Terlecki (PiS) after the meeting of the United Right Coalition Council.

On Tuesday (December 1) the United Right Coalition Council held a meeting. It was attended, among others, by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Speaker of the Senate Stanisław Karczewski, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin. The leaders of the groupings co-creating the United Right were also present: the head of the Covenant, the deputy prime minister and the minister of development, labor and technology, Jarosław Gowin, the head of Solidarna Polska, the minister of justice Zbigniew Ziobro, the deputy minister of Solidarity Poland, Sebastian Kaleta, and the deputy head of the MAP Janusz Kowalski (SP).

– We discussed current affairs, including the EU budget and issues that lie ahead in the European Union. We agreed that the defense of sovereignty, both political and economic, is important. We also agreed that the EU, however, cannot act outside the Treaties and cannot break the law that it has established and which is binding on it, Terlecki told journalists after the meeting.

When asked if there was agreement as to the possibility of vetoing and whether there were any votes against, Terlecki replied: – We will obviously want to avoid the veto if it is possible, that is, if the ideas that are directed at us and Hungary are withdrawn.

When asked about it the Dutch House of Representatives passed a resolution obliging its government to bring Poland to the Court of Justice for violating the rule of law, Terlecki stressed that the Netherlands is ahead of the elections. – You can expect various actions from the forces fighting in the election campaign – noted the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm.
