EU, 27 member states, “Corona 19 vaccination, let’s start the same day”

-The European Union (EU) leadership has proposed that 27 member states start vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) on the same day.

EU Commissioner Ursula Ponderrayen said in a speech to the European Parliament on the 16th (local time), “We will be able to approve the first vaccine within a week and start vaccinating immediately,” and “more approvals will follow next year.”

“To end the pandemic (a global pandemic), 70% of the population needs to be vaccinated,” said Chairman Fon der Reien. “It is a tremendous task.”

“So let’s get 27 countries to start vaccinating together as soon as possible, on the same day,” he said. “We have united throughout the pandemic. Let’s start unity to combat this terrible virus, too.” Chairman Ponderrayen explained that the EU has secured enough vaccines for all member states’ populations. He also said that he would support vaccinations in neighboring countries through COVAX, an international vaccine partnership led by the World Health Organization (WHO). The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is responsible for the EU’s vaccine approval, said on the 21st that Pfizer and Bioen. It is expected to decide whether to approve the Tech Corona 19 vaccine. Upon approval, the EU aims to start vaccination before the end of the year.

The US and UK have already approved the Pfizer vaccine and have begun vaccinating it.

The EU Commission emphasized that in October, preparations for the corona 19 vaccination should be prepared early.

The EU plans to give access to member states according to the size of the population at the beginning of the vaccine distribution. Also, considering that the initial volume will be limited, it was decided to set the target for vaccination first.

The EU sees medical staff, long-term nursing facility manpower, manpower in essential industries, people over 60 years old, people who are unable to distancing from society, people whose health is at risk, and those who are vulnerable to socio-economic conditions.
