Etihad Rail, developer and operator of the national railway network of the United Arab Emirates, has signed four Memorandums of Understanding with a number of the world’s leading rail and road transport companies, during its participation in InnoTrans 2022, the world’s leading trade fair for transport technologies. , in the German capital Berlin, which takes place from 20 to 23 September.
Memoranda of understanding signed include the French government-owned National Railways Company (SNCF), one of the largest rail transport companies in France, Alstom, one of the world’s largest companies in sustainable transport and railway infrastructure construction , and Progress Rail., a Caterpillar company, and one of the world’s largest suppliers of rail products and services, and Thales Group, a French multinational that designs, develops and manufactures innovative electronic systems, solutions and equipment for the aerospace, defense, transport and security.
The MoUs, which have been signed by senior Etihad Rail officials and each of the signatories, aim to support economic development efforts in the UAE and promote the growth of the railway sector in the country and the region in general, as they cover many areas including railway operations and maintenance and support service facilities, passenger terminals and freight operations, as well as ensuring integration with the latest technologies, exchange of knowledge and experience, adoption of best practices and investment in research and development in the railway services sector.

Etihad Rail participated in InnoTrans 2022 as one of the specialized exhibitors in the railway and transport sector, where the company’s pavilion, which spanned an area of over 1,000 square meters, presented the latest developments related to the development of the national railway United Arab Emirates Network. InnoTrans, held once every two years in Berlin, is one of the world’s leading trade shows for transportation technologies.
