Etihad Guest Encourages Members to Donate Miles and Support Australian Wildlife Relief Efforts

Etihad Guest, Etihad Airways’ award-winning loyalty program launched a campaign on January 13, 2020, encouraging members to donate their Etihad Guest Miles to the Australian Wildlife Rescue Organization (WIRES) to support wildlife relief efforts. endangered and injured wild in Australia. More than 4,500 Etihad Guest members have donated 18 million miles since the campaign launched, the equivalent of feeding more than 850 koalas for a year. For every Etihad Guest Mile donated for food, shelter and animal care, Etihad Guest has committed to match every donation to further support conservation efforts. WIRES has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 30 years and donations will go towards the rescue and rehabilitation of native animals.

The country has seen significant destruction of homes and businesses, and devastating numbers of wild animals have died as a result of an unprecedented bushfire season. “Our members have been grateful for this opportunity and have been very generous with their hard-earned miles so far.”

Members who have donated will receive detailed information on how their donations have contributed to the cleanup and relief process. The goal of the campaign is not only to help during the current wildfire season, but also to provide long-term infrastructure support to prevent the devastation of future fires.
