Born in 2001, in a family with 2 brothers in Kim Tien commune (Tuong Duong), since she was a little girl in kindergarten, unlike other girls her age, Ngan Thi Van Su was very fond of football and often often played football with his brother in the yard next to the small stream behind the house.
In 2007, to serve the construction of Ban Ve Hydropower Project, Ngan Thi Van Su’s family moved to the resettlement area in Tan Ngoc village, Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong). However, her passion for soccer has not changed.
In grade 6, due to her agility, and often playing soccer with her boyfriends, Ngan Thi Van Su was selected by teachers and teachers of Huong Tien Secondary School to join the female team to attend the Phu Dong Health Association in the school cluster. Although the school’s football team did not achieve high results, Su caught the eye of a coach responsible for recruiting troops for the Hanoi women’s football club in Nghe An, Ha Tinh. And this coach went to the house to convince Su’s parents to let their daughter go to Hanoi to join the club.

Seeing his daughter’s passion and desire to play football, Mr. Ngan Van Minh – Su’s father packed with his son to Hanoi to participate in the audition. A few days later, Su was recruited by the youth football coaches of Hanoi Club to practice at the same age as U13 and U14.
Coming to professional football at the age of 13, having to leave her family to be independent, this is not a small challenge for Ngan Thi Van Su. “In a place with no relatives, hundreds of kilometers away from home, in the early days, I was very sad, hiding in a corner crying. Then, with the encouragement of the teachers, I gradually got used to it. Saying it’s familiar, but sometimes I still miss my parents, miss you and just want to run home as fast as possible. Every time I do that, I bury my head in practice,” shared Ngan Thi Van Su.
With inherent talent, more determination and the virtue of hard work, Van Su constantly makes professional progress. After 1 year of training at Hanoi Club, the Thai ethnic girl in the Ngoc Lam resettlement area is on the list of the Vietnam Football Federation to attend the 2015 AFC U14 Women’s Football Championship – Southeast region. ASIAN. In the final against Thailand, it was Van Su who fixed the score 2-1, bringing home the gold medal for Vietnam women’s U14.
In 2017, at the age of 16, Van Su was promoted to the first team of Hanoi Club to compete in the National Women’s Football Championship. At the club level, the Nghe An girl has performed excellently, contributing to the National Women’s Football Championship of Hanoi Club in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Shine in the National Women’s Team
In 2018, Ngan Thi Van Su was called up to the National U19 team to participate in the qualifying round of the 2019 Asian Women’s U19 Championship in October 2019. Outstanding performance in this tournament, at the end of 2019, along with Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Thanh Nha, Ngan Thi Van Su was summoned to the National Team by coach Mai Duc Chung to fight in the 2nd qualifying round. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will take place in South Korea in early 2020.

No one dares to believe that she is coached by Mai Duc Chung in the match against Myanmar in the third qualifying round of the 2020 Olympic Games, because this is a match that determines the ticket to the next Vietnam women’s team. Initial success at the 3rd Qualifier of the Olympic Games 2020 helps Ngan Thi Van Su to regularly participate in the main squad of the Vietnam Women’s Team and Hanoi Club. In the two years of 2019, the Thai ethnic girl from Nghe An was continuously voted as the best player in the national U19 tournament. At the 2020 Golden Ball award ceremony, the Thai ethnic player was also voted as the best young female player.
8 years of playing professional football, including 4 years of participation in the National Team, although called “Dwarf Mushroom” due to her short body (only 1.52m tall), Ngan Thi Van Su clearly showed her superiority. points in terms of speed, technique, ability to finish and pass the ball. Can play on the left, right or center, Van Su is also a female player with a knack for running, creating space and coordinating with teammates. In the National Team, Ngan Thi Van Su is the catalyst for an extremely fierce position competition with female midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy in the position of the left wing corridor. Although not always the number one choice of coach Mai Duc Chung in this position, every time he plays, Van Su always knows how to shine with important goals.
In addition to the only goal that helped Vietnam beat Myanmar 1-0 at the 2020 Summer Olympics Women’s Football Qualifier in Asia, Ngan Thi Van Su was also the owner of the opening goal to help Vietnam defeat Cambodia. 3-0 at the 2022 AFF Women’s Football Championship, the equalizer helped Vietnam hold a 1-1 draw with Thailand at the 2022 Asian Women’s Football Championship and 2 goals against Cambodia in the SEAs Games 31 (in 2022) and SEA Games 32 (in 2023).

In particular, in this July, along with Thai Thi Thao and Vu Thi Hoa (from the same hometown of Do Luong), Ngan Thi Van Su is one of three players from Nghe An who participated in the list of 23 players participating in the final round.
